President Donald Trump was playing golf yesterday as some of the world’s most powerful leaders participated in a G20 session on the global response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Trump attended the morning session, in his penultimate appearance at the international meeting as US president, but was playing golf in Sterling, Virginia, when the afternoon side panel at the COVID-19 a pandemic occurred.
Mr trump did not deliver a message to the meeting and it was believed that there was no US participation.
He spent about four hours at Trump National Golf Club, where he has spent several weekends since losing the election to Joe Biden.
White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany later said Trump spoke at the summit to highlight the work the United States has done to rebuild the economy and secure vaccines in response to the coronavirus.
The president is scheduled to appear at the G20 for the last time on Sunday morning US time.
Tweeting on Sunday, Trump referenced his scheduled appearance and media reports that he did not attend the side panel leaders’ meeting the day before.
He wrote: “I just got to the virtual G20. I was here yesterday too (early), but some of the fake news outlets did not report it accurately as usual. My speech is available (they said I did not give a speech). “
Meanwhile, coronavirus cases in the US have exceeded 12 million according to Johns Hopkins University, with 255,905 related deaths. Globally, the pandemic has claimed more than 1.37 million lives.
