The mutilator BODY Barry McArdle will be extradited to the Netherlands to serve 13 years in prison for the brutal murder of Keith Ennis.
The 34-year-old fugitive carcass cutter was recently arrested after we revealed how the butcher was living free in Galway and had even gotten married.
This was despite the Dutch authorities searching for the twisted thug for Ennis’s horrific murder in the Netherlands in February 2009.
The Dubliner was stabbed to death before his body was dismembered with a chainsaw and disposed of in a canal on the outskirts of Amsterdam.
Monster McArdle is being wanted in the Netherlands after being recently sentenced to 13 years in absentia for manslaughter and disposing of Ennis’s body.
After our story in June that exposed his freedom, Gardai’s active fugitive search team detained the brute at his home in Co Galway on foot of a new European arrest warrant.
And yesterday in Superior Court, McArdle formally turned himself in to Holland for the stabbing and dismemberment of Ennis.
WARRANTY ISSUED
Ms. Caroline Cummings SC, for the Minister of Justice, told Mr. Justice Paul Burns that an order had been issued in the Netherlands for McArdle on April 22.
He said the balance of McArdle’s sentence remaining to serve was 4,514 days.
While formally turning himself in, McArdle’s attorney, Leanora Frawley, recounted how she had a “unique” opportunity here for a surgical procedure to remove a colostomy bag.
She said she had an appointment for surgery but would need a prior consultation and asked the judge for bail that day, which has yet to be agreed.
Judge Burns said the court took note of McArdle’s circumstances and adjourned the matter until November 27.
He left McArdle in custody for ten days, pending his delivery to the Netherlands.
McArdle’s dramatic arrest came after we lifted the lid on the wanted man living free in Galway in conjunction with his recent wedding to his partner Victoria, who told us: “He’s a soft teddy bear, he’s not the monster with him. that you always do. be.”
When questioned about his horrific crime, McArdle told us that he was launching another attempt to have his conviction for Ennis’s murder overturned, and complained, “I’m not going to lie down and accept this.”
The Dutch want McArdle to serve his jail time in a high-security prison in Amsterdam.
