Coronavirus Ireland: Two emerging test centers opening this weekend in Dublin, including Croke Park handball alley

This weekend two pop-up COVID-19 testing centers will open in Dublin, including the handball alley at Croke Park.

The GAA facility will join the Castleknock Health Center as the two new locations for centers offering coronavirus testing to patients referred by a GP.

The two new centers will increase testing capacity in the capital by 180-200 tests per day, in conjunction with the main community testing center at the National Show Center in Swords.

Four new Community Test Centers have recently been created to manage local demand, including two in Dublin, one in Kildare and one in Portlaoise.

“Getting tested is now faster and easier than ever,” said Mellany McLoone, director of CHO Dublin North City and County.

“These two emerging hubs mean that anyone with symptoms can call their GP for a free test and quickly find out if they have the virus and should stay home, or can safely return to their normal routine.

“I would like to convey our sincere appreciation to Croke Park and the local residents for facilitating the provision of this valuable service to our people.”
