The latest update to the figures on COVID-19 cases and deaths in Ireland is scheduled to be released by NPHET tonight.

A press conference is taking place at the Health Department and is expected to start around 5.30pm.

It comes when schools were given the green light this morning to bring all elementary students, as well as fifth-year high school students, back to school on Monday.

The letter says that the Department of Health and HSE “have reaffirmed that the gradual gradual reopening can proceed as planned.”

Attendees for tonight’s briefing will be Dr. Ronan Glynn, Deputy Medical Director of the Department of Health, Professor Philip Nolan, Chair of the NPHET Irish Epidemiological Modeling Advisory Group, Dr. Lucy Jessop, Office Director National HSE Immunization Department, Dr. Cliona Murphy, consultant obstetrician and gynecologist at Coombe University Hospital for Women and Infants and at Tallaght University Hospital, and president of the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

We will have live updates following the briefing as it begins at the Health Department, so be sure to stay with us at all times.
