Health officials today announced 3,394 new cases of the coronavirus in Ireland.
That brings the total number of cases in the country since the pandemic began to 96,926.
There have also been four more deaths from COVID-19 in the country.
So far 2,252 people have sadly lost their lives as a result of the disease.
355 of the current new cases are in Dublin.
The HSE is working to identify any contacts that patients may have had to provide them with information and advice to prevent further spread.
The COVID-19 Dashboard provides up-to-date information on key COVID-19 indicators in the community.
Of the cases reported today:
- 1,619 are men / 1,766 are women
- 65% are under 45
- The average age is 35 years.
- 389 in Cork, 355 in Dublin, 339 in Donegal, 258 in Louth, 233 in May and the remaining 1,820 cases are distributed in all other counties.
As of 2:00 p.m. today, 607 patients with COVID-19 are hospitalized, of which 56 are in the ICU. 71 additional hospitalizations in the last 24 hours.
