An American university has predicted that Ireland could expect to see approximately zero new coronavirus deaths starting June 24.

MyLondon reports that by building statistical models of how the disease spreads, and taking into account the current rate of decline in cases due to social distancing and other measures, the institute estimates that the first day that we could expect zero deaths in Ireland will be from the end of June onwards.

The group’s analysis of their latest launch says: “At national level, most EEA countries appeared to have rapidly increased testing during or before the increase in estimated infections.
