Another image included in the same report shows the spread of confirmed and suspected Covid-19 cases in acute hospital sites.
Again, although significant numbers are observed in Limerick, Cork, Galway, Letterkenny, Westport, Cavan and Tullamore, most of the confirmed cases in acute hospitals can be seen in and around Dublin.
Tallaght and St James Hospitals in Dublin are reported to have 14 patients in their critical care units, while St. Vincent Hospital has 12.
Nationwide, 142 confirmed Covid-19 patients are in critical care units, up from 160 cases on the night of April 9.
Despite this, the HSE says there are still 127 critical care beds available for patients in the country.
NEW CASES
The maps and charts were released last night after the government announced that 38 more people had been killed by Covid-19 in Ireland in the past 24 hours.
This brings Ireland’s death toll to 444, up from 406 the night before.
A total of 657 new cases were confirmed yesterday in Irish laboratories, while a further 411 were confirmed by the accumulation of evidence sent to a German laboratory.
This means that the total number of confirmed cases in Ireland is now 1,068.
The total number of people who tested positive for coronavirus is 12,547.
Of yesterday’s deaths, 29 were located in the east, six in the west and three in the south.
22 of the patients were men, while 16 were women, while the average age of these deaths is 84 years.
28 were reported as having an underlying health condition.
