“The problem is the bar that you all raised in this genre, I don’t think we really could have found a better idea than The Goonies that we all did in the 80s.”

During the live broadcast, the stars remembered the making of the film, and Astin performed Mikey’s famous monologue “Troy Cube”, the moving speech from the bottom of a well that convinced the rest of the Goonies to continue their search.

Cohen replied, “Yes, it’s true. I went from Chunk to the piece you now see.”

At the end of the video, all the stars paid tribute to the “true heroes” of the pandemic: the doctors, nurses, police, truckers, maintenance workers and others, working during the closure.

“The Goonies save the world in the movie, but you are the true heroes,” said Quan.

The live broadcast ended with Spielberg saying, “I’m going to go to the other room right now and I’m going to see Goonies.”

Good advice for blocking. In the words of Mikey Walsh: “It is our time”.
