A SCHOOL in Carrigtwohill has been notified of a confirmed case of Covid-19.
The parents of the children at the Scoil Chliodhna National Community School received an email from the school last night, informing them that the Health Service Executive had informed the school of “a confirmed case of Covid-19 in our school” .
A letter from the HSE was attached to the email.
The HSE letter stated that a confirmed case at the school had been reported to the HSE-South Public Health Department.
The letter continued: “A public health risk assessment has been conducted. Parents of children who are considered close contacts of the confirmed case have been contacted and informed accordingly.”
He added: “If your child has not been identified as a close contact at this time, your child does not need a Covid-19 test, they can continue to attend school, and no further action is required at this time.”
A statement from the Cork Education and Training Board said: “Cork ETB has been informed of a confirmed case of Covid-19 at the school. The school, at all times, has followed and implemented all the guidelines of the Department of Education and Skills and HSE. The HSE is now managing this process and the school is working with the HSE and following all of their advice. “
