A case of coronavirus was confirmed in a Cork hospital in recent days.
The HSE has confirmed that there has been one case in CUH, while two more are suspected of having it.
There is also a suspicious case at Mercy Hospital.
As of August 28, 1,638 cases were recorded in the county. Although there were no new Cork cases among the 42 confirmed in Ireland yesterday, there has been an increase with 44 recorded here during the two weeks leading up to 28.
Although the cases are back in county hospitals, the county still has a much smaller number than other parts of the county.
Beaumont, St James and UH Limerick have five confirmed cases each, while Mater from Dublin has ten suspected and two confirmed cases.
At this time there are 35 people hospitalized with the disease, while six of them are in ICU.
Almost 60,000 tests have been completed in recent days and there have been no deaths since Friday, August 21.
