The fire on a construction site in Cork City has been controlled.
The Cork City Fire Brigade said the incident at the MacCurtain St site was quickly controlled by three fire service units.
Firefighters used a hydraulic platform to reach the top of a nearly nine-story scaffolding tower, where the fire broke out.
They posted images on their social media channels of a scorched flat-roofed area, with a torch gun and a fuel tank nearby.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.

The fire broke out shortly after noon near the top of a nine-story scaffolding structure at the construction site at the east end of MacCurtain St.
There are no reports of injuries.
Traffic diversions are in place while firefighters tackle the fire.

The site, intended for the first bedroom hotel in Cork City, has been the subject of controversy in recent months over planning issues.
MacCurtain Street Hoteliers Ltd received conditional planning last February for the partial demolition of existing structures on the site of the former Windsor Inn and the construction of a mini-hotel with 73 capsule style rooms with 93 beds.
