Conor McGregor v Dustin Poirier UFC 257: Tony McGregor’s ‘calm before the storm’ message ahead of the main event fight

Conor McGregor’s father has endorsed the UFC star to give another masterclass in fighting Dustin Poirier.

The Notorious face the American in the early hours of Sunday morning in their first fight since beating Donald Cerrone 12 months ago.

And Tony McGregor predicts a great performance from his son.

He posted on Instagram: “The calm before Storm McGregor.

“Storm McGregor will hit Abu Dhabi.

“God bless you.”

Meanwhile, Khabib Nurmagomedov has tipped McGregor to beat Poirier, but only if he finishes the fight in two rounds.

The Russian said: “Only two rounds – Conor.

“At first, it’s Conor. But third round, number four, I think Dustin can beat this guy.”

McGregor still hopes to tempt Nurmagomedov out of retirement and lead him to a rematch, as he seeks to avenge his 2018 loss.

Nurmagomedov finished his career last year with an undefeated 29-0 record, but after arguing with UFC president Dana White, he admitted that he could be persuaded to return to the Octagon for “something spectacular.”
