Clooney says Trump is sent to the ‘dustbin of history’

Actor George Clooney has said that US President Donald Trump and his family have been thrown “into the dustbin of history” after the chaos in Washington DC.

He said: “This puts Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr, Ivanka, all of them, in the dustbin of history. That name will now forever be associated with the insurrection.”

In a new video released from the chaos, President Trump granted the election to Biden, saying that “the new administration will be inaugurated on January 20” and that his “focus is now on ensuring a smooth, orderly and efficient transition of power. No problem”.

Pop star Pink said she was “embarrassed”, while Marvel actor Mark Ruffalo described the events as a “coup attempt.”

Trump posted a short video condemning those who rioted on Wednesday, following widespread outrage at the violence that President-elect Joe Biden described as an “insurrection.”

The outgoing commander-in-chief faces calls to resign before his term ends on January 20, such is the depth of anger after his supporters stormed the US Capitol.
