The year we’ve had has meant that people have permitted many to put up your holiday decorations months in advance.
Everyone has been told they can play the Christmas tunes in October and early November by those who are normally known for their grinch spirit, ‘ba phony’ if that means forgetting about the coronavirus for a second.
But even in the tightest of confinement during the deadliest of pandemics, this will definitely divide opinions among those who yearn for the festivities.
Maria Ryan from Dublin told RTE’s The Ray D’Arcy about her 25-year-old Christmas tree.

She admitted in the strange interview that the tree has been in her living room, fully decorated since 1995.
The quarter-century arboreal décor has illuminated the hallways of Maria’s home and will continue to do so for another 25 years and more, he said.
