Two people were hospitalized after alleged separate stabbings in Dundalk late on Christmas Day.

A young man in his 20s was hospitalized after he was allegedly assaulted in the Castleross area at 11:15 p.m. Friday night.

The man is not believed to have been seriously injured while arrests were not made.

Gardai confirmed that investigations are ongoing, a spokesperson said: “Gardaí attended the scene of an alleged assault in the Castleross area of ​​Dundalk yesterday, December 25, 2020, at approximately 11.15pm.

“A man, in his 20s, was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital to receive treatment for his injuries. His injuries are not believed to endanger his life.”

In a separate incident an hour earlier, a woman was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital after an alleged stabbing in the Saltown area.

A Garda spokesman told the Irish Mirror: “His injuries are not believed to endanger his life.”

“No arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing. ”
