‘Celtic pays my full salary’; Shane Duffy responds to sarcastic comment on social media

Celtic defender Shane Duffy has responded to a fan on Twitter who equated Brighton & Hove Albion with paying part of their salary with the decision to charge English Premier League fans for pay-per-view matches.

A supporter in England shared a picture suggesting that Brighton was wrong to make supporters pay because Duffy is at Celtic and the Seagulls pay £ 25,000 a week from his salary.

Duffy made things clear declaring on the social media site: “Someone sent me this I feel I have to respond. Celtic pays my full salary sorry. However, I still don’t think it’s right to charge £ 15 for a match. “

Salary tracking website Spotrac suggests that Duffy has a Brighton contract worth around £ 40,000 a week, which would make him one of the top earners in the Scottish Premier League if Celtic really pay it all .

Still, so far, it has proven to be a good investment for the champions.

Although the Republic of Ireland are still making headway at Celtic, they have helped the team score five clean sheets in their seven games to date, all of which have been victories.

Fans hope the best is yet to come from the summer signing as well.

The PPV issue in England right now is an emotional one, but Duffy clearly feels it was unfair to drag him down, even if he has sympathy for his parent club’s fans.

In other news, a former Premier League player was blown away by Celtic fans when he experienced the atmosphere at Celtic Park.
