The Environmental Health Service served a CLOSURE order at a location in West Cork as part of a multi-agency drug operation in Bantry and Dublin.

He said that as a result of an inspection at one of the registered premises, authorized officials from the Environmental Health Service issued a closure order under the FSAI Act. Authorized FSAI agents took official control samples for analysis.
The garda spokesperson continued: “As part of today’s operation, two men, in their 20s, were arrested for alleged offenses under the Drug Abuse Act and are currently being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996, at Bantry Garda Station. “Searches conducted today have resulted in the seizure of approximately 7 kilos of suspected cannabis valued at approximately € 140,000 (subject to analysis) In addition, a significant, but not yet specified, amount of synthetic / psychoactive material has also been seized. “
