CAB seizes € 140,000 in cash in Newbridge raids as part of an operation linked to a criminal gang

The Criminal Assets Office has seized more than € 140.00 in cash and in three separate bank accounts as part of a search in Newbridge, County Kildare today.

The raids were carried out as part of an ongoing investigation into a criminal gang operating in the Greater Dublin area.

Four houses and a commercial premises were searched as part of the targeted operation linked to a gang involved in the installation of gutters and roof repairs.

A Garda spokesperson said that “affected people target the vulnerable and the elderly. Today marks a significant advance in the ongoing investigation of the Office of Criminal Assets. “

The search operation was conducted by personnel from the Bureau of Criminal Assets assisted by the ASU, the Kildare Divisional Detective Units and the Customs Dog Unit.

Prior to today’s search, € 103,852 in cash was seized as part of this investigation, Gardaí confirmed.

Investigations are ongoing.
