Britain’s Duke and Duchess of Sussex have agreed to a multi-year deal with Netflix for scripted and unscripted TV series, documentaries, movies and children’s content.

The news of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new affair was first reported by the New York Times.

In a statement, the royal couple said: “Our lives, both independent of each other and as a couple, have allowed us to understand the power of the human spirit: courage, resilience and the need for connection.

“Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, to shed light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope.

“As new parents, inspiring family programming is important to us too, as is telling powerful stories through a truthful and relatable lens.

“We are delighted to be working with Ted [Sarandos, Netflix Co-CEO and Chief Content Officer] and the Netflix team, whose unprecedented reach will help us share powerful content that unlocks action. “

Netflix boss Sarandos said the couple “have inspired millions of people around the world with their authenticity, optimism and leadership.”

He described Netflix as “proud” and “excited” to collaborate on “telling stories with them that can help build resilience and increase understanding for audiences everywhere.”
