BREAKAGE: Cash and luxury watches seized during CAB searches in Limerick

A MAJOR amount of cash and 12 luxury watches have been seized in an operation targeting criminal elements suspected of being involved in the sale and supply of illegal drugs in Limerick.

The bank accounts containing 58,000 euros were frozen as part of the operation that was carried out by members of the Office of Criminal Assets.

“The search operation consisted of the search of three residential homes and a commercial premises, with the assistance of members of the Limerick Detective Unit. The searches were carried out under arrest warrants from the CAB,” said a spokesman for the Garda.

In addition to the cash held in the frozen bank accounts, € 2,450 in cash was seized during the searches along with £ 550 in sterling.

Twelve luxury watches were also seized, including a Rolex, a Hublot and a Breitling, along with various financial documents.

No arrests were made and investigations are ongoing.
