BORIS SHARES CAPTAIN OF MOORE’S LETTER

Boris Johnson shared a letter he had written to Captain Tom Moore to celebrate his 100th birthday.

He wrote: “Captain Tom: Today, on your 100th birthday, let me express the admiration and gratitude of an entire nation for their heroic fundraising mission.

“Every day I write to someone in our country to thank them for their service to others and to recognize them as a Point of Light in our lives.

“No one personifies a Point of Light more than you.

So today, on your 100th birthday, let me express the admiration and gratitude of an entire nation for your heroic fundraising mission.

“You have touched our hearts, you have lifted our spirits, and you have allowed millions of people to show their support for the wonderful men and women of our exclusive NHS.

“Because of your extraordinary courage and dedication, our country will go through this difficult time and, in doing so, will live up to its optimism that tomorrow will be a better day.

“So congratulations on becoming the 1362nd UK Light Spot, thank you for all you have done and I wish you a very happy birthday!”
