Body tragically found in search of missing pensioner David Cunningham

Tragically, a body has been found while searching for a missing retiree.

David Cunningham, 70, was last seen leaving his family’s home in Oakridge Crescent, Dunboyne, Co Meath on Monday morning.

Gardai had appealed to the public for help in the search for Mr. Cunningham, who was described as 5’10 “tall, with a slim build and blue eyes.

Tragically, the search was called off Tuesday following the discovery of a body.

It is understood that death is not treated as suspicious.

A Garda spokesman said: “The search for the missing person for David Cunningham was suspended following the discovery of a body.”

“We would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this matter.

“No further action is required and no further information is being provided.”
