Searches have been going on for several days.
A body of water has been recovered off the north coast of Louth.
It was found after noon by members of Dundalk Sub Aqua as part of the search for a man in his 30s, who had been missing from his home in Gyles’ Quay since Tuesday night.
Extensive searches have been conducted as part of efforts to locate Ramano Dicks, who is originally from South Africa and had been living in the area for 15 months.
The body was located near a buoy, about 50 meters from the coast, where the Foot River meets the sea at Mount Bagnal.
Gardaí, Greenore and Clogherhead Coast Guard units, Louth Civil Defense, kayakers and local volunteers participated in the search over the past few days.
