A body was found in a park in South Dublin this morning.

DART services were suspended between Dun Laoghaire and Lansdowne Road after the wreckage was discovered.

Gardai and several units from the Dublin Fire Brigade rushed to the site of the sinister discovery in Blackrock Park, Booterstown, shortly after 7 a.m.

A Garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live that the results of an autopsy would determine the course of her investigation.

She said: “Gardai is currently on the scene following the discovery of a body in Blackrock Park, Dublin, this morning, September 17, 2020.

“The body remains at the scene and will be transferred for a post-mortem examination at a later date, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation. No further information is available at this time.”

Dublin Bus is accepting train tickets during the DART suspension and traffic is extremely heavy in the surrounding areas, according to AA Roadwatch.
