Ballinteer murder: arrest made in investigation of death of mother and 2 children in South Dublin

A man has been arrested as part of the investigation into the murder of a mother and her two children in South Dublin.

Affira Syed, 11, six-year-old Fazam and her mother Seema Banu Syed were discovered in a home in Llewellyn Court, Ballinteer, on October 28.

A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the case and is being detained at Dundrum Garda station.

Sources told Dublin Live that all three victims may have been dead for several days before the grim discovery was made.

It is believed that they were strangled to death.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí investigates the murder of an adult woman and 2 children in a domestic dwelling in Llywellen Court, Ballinteer on October 28, 2020 today, Saturday November 28, 2020, arrested a man in his 30s years.

“He is currently detained under the provisions of Article 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Dundrum Garda Station.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
