This is the moment the Gardai stand on three men before seizing a gun in Cork tonight.
A bag with what is understood as a machete was seized in the city after the armed support unit swooped down on a group of men on Pope’s Quay at around 3:30 p.m.
The video shows the men lying on the ground while guards are watching them. Then an officer walks up and takes a bag from the men.
A 21-year-old man was arrested and taken to Bridewell Garda Station.
A Garda spokesman confirmed the incident and said the investigation is ongoing.
He said: “Gardaí this afternoon seized an offensive weapon at approximately 3.35pm at Pope’s Quay in Cork. A 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with this and taken to Bridewell Garda station.
