Gardaí has requested information on the death of a man in Dublin last February.

John Hannigan, 48, was discovered in the hallway of his apartment complex on Grosvenor Road in Rathmines on January 3.

He was taken to St James Hospital, where he later died.

Gardaí says an autopsy was conducted, but the results are not being released for “operational reasons.”

An investigation established that at 1:30 p.m. on January 3, John traveled to Balally, Sandyford in Dublin, where he briefly met a family member.

However, there are no details on his movements since he left the area until he was discovered at his apartment complex at 6 p.m. the same day.

The sole cause of death has not yet been established and Gardaí assures that they are investigating “all the circumstances of this inexplicable death.”

Gardaí is appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

They are particularly interested in information about John’s movements from the New Years period to January 3.

Anyone with information should contact the Rathmines Garda station on 01666 6700 or the confidential Garda line at 1800 666111.

This case will appear in tonight’s episode of Crimecall on RTÉ 1.
