An Post Launches Free Delivery To Nursing Homes Like Ireland To See Tighter Restrictions

An Post offers free delivery nursing and nursing homes nationwide and Ireland will be subjected to a higher level of restrictions.

The national postal service will deliver all cards and correspondence sent to and from nursing home residents at no cost.

All you need to do is type FREEPOST where the stamp normally goes.

An Post also offers additional community services including:

A Post’s delivery staff will continue to check in regularly with the ‘elders’ along their routes.

You can register by completing the postal address and eircode of the client here.

Postmen will refer customers who may have a specific need for food and recipes to ALONE, the national charity that ensures personal support for the elderly and vulnerable.

Collection of postage for elderly / vulnerable customers:

Older or vulnerable customers who cannot go out and buy stamps for cards or letters, can have their postman or postman pick up their mail at their home and An Post will cover the postage for them.

Newspaper delivery

An Post will provide same day newspaper delivery for older and vulnerable customers Monday through Friday.

Temporary Social Welfare Collection Agent of Correos

Clients can appoint a temporary agent to collect their welfare payments (eg pension) at the post office.
