Aer Lingus will conduct a review after images of an almost complete flight emerged with no apparent evidence of social distancing measures.
The airline said any required process changes would be implemented as “a matter of urgency.”
The move came as the images were shared from inside the cabin of a flight from Belfast to London Heathrow this morning, showing row after row filled with passengers.
This was the @Aer Lingus flight from @BELFASTCITY_AIR to @londonheathrow this morning at 8:45. There is no social distancing: a passenger told me that they had not given any advice on how to stay safe. More in @BBCevex following @taramillstv @NewsDeclan pic.twitter.com/eeAfcGf23O

Passenger Sean Mallon told BBC Radio Ulster that “there was no social distance whatsoever.”
“I would say that there were about 95% of the seats occupied on the flight,” he said.
In a statement, Aer Lingus said: “In light of the unexpectedly high loads on the Belfast – London Heathrow service this morning and the level of demand for the route, Aer Lingus is reviewing its processes and procedures applicable to the operation of this service.
“The safety of Aer Lingus customers and crew is our top priority and any process changes identified as necessary will be implemented urgently.”
