AARON GREENE got the Zlatan Ibrahimovic jersey as a reward for scoring him in the corners.

But Stephen Bradley believes that Shamrock Rovers can claim bigger prizes in the future.

The Hoops were eliminated from the Europa League when AC Milan won at Tallaght thanks to graceful goals from Ibra and Hakan Calhanoglu.

The Swede’s jersey was in demand, but Hoops hitman Greene made an early fix during a corner.

His teammate Gary O’Neill revealed: “In one of the corners he said, ‘Listen, my boy is the ball boy behind the goal, it would mean a lot to him to get the jersey.’

“I think that when set pieces went up on the board, whoever marked Zlatan was the chosen one, Greener was lucky!

DIFFERENT CLASS

“The three in the back were only saying about his strength, his size, his movement, his heist game, everything, he is only two or three steps above what we are used to.”

Bradley praised his team’s performance by highlighting Greene’s three chances saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The Tallaght boss said: “Players pride to be honest. I thought they were great.

“I thought we were brave, we played our way and got three really good chances because of that.

WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN

“On another night, if Aaron scored first, you never know what could happen.

“So I’m very proud of the group, very proud of how they attacked the game.

“There are three opportunities that we create from football. It wasn’t a kick and a hope and something fell on him. “

PROUD OF THE PLAYERS

Ibrahimovic drove in a first-half casualty to overtake Allan Mannus before Calhanoglu expertly set up a second after the break.

Bradley added: “We know what we are up against in terms of quality.

“But we did not take a step back, we played our way and that was the most pleasant thing.”

“I am very proud of the group.

“What we have to get out are massive learnings, in terms of what we did really, really well and what we can do better.

“When we sit down, we remove the emotion and analyze it, I think the general feeling will be pride.”
