It won’t be difficult to see coverage of tonight’s results with almost every major broadcaster doing some version of the coverage. But if you like US election nights to have an American flavor, there are a few options.

CNN is perhaps the main media target of Donald Trump’s Twitter account, and the channel will be among the most watched worldwide on election night.

You may have CNN as part of your TV subscription, but if you don’t, the channel will now stream live online for the next 24 hours.

All the regular CNN bosses will be talking all night, and John King, the man with the fancy touchscreen, will give the election results county by county.

Even if you don’t have a TV subscription to watch some US networks, you should be able to follow the results live on Youtube.

Most of the US networks broadcast the recent presidential debates live on YouTube and the same can be expected from the results. When the polls close, if you go to YouTube you will see a list of the coverage of the results of what YouTube considers to be “authorized news sources”.

YouTube hasn’t given a complete list of stations that will stream online, but it told the New York Times that it expected coverage to come from major networks ABC, NBC, and CBS, as well as CNN and Fox News.

Crossing the water

Apparently America’s most trusted news outlet isn’t American at all, it’s the BBC. If you want to get the results of the Beeb elections, it should also be pretty straightforward.

Coverage of the BBC’s top results will be spearheaded by some of its most prominent reporters, including Jon Sobel and Emily Maitlis, and will begin at 11.30pm tonight.

The results will be shown on BBC World News and streamed live on the BBC News website.
