A man died after being hit by a pickup truck in a suburb of the city.
The man, 70, died after being run over in the parking lot of a sports field in Douglas around 3:30 p.m.
Gardai is examining the scene and has filed an appeal to witnesses who were in the area at the time.
A spokesperson said: “Gardaí is currently at the scene of a fatal collision, which occurred in a parking lot of a sports field in Donnybrook, Douglas, Co. Cork, on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at approximately 3:30 pm. .

“The collision involved a van and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, was fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The scene is now being examined by forensic collision investigators.
“Gardaí is appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have information or images from the camera (including the dash cam) to contact the Garda Anglesea Street station on 021 452 2000, the confidential line from Garda at 1800 666 111 or any Garda station. “
