A child was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a serious collision in Dublin on Thursday.
The incident took place in the Cherry Orchard area after 7 p.m. yesterday.
It is understood to have happened when a quad and scrambler collided at Croftwood Crescent in the southwest of the city, Dublin Live reports.
Since then, the little girl has been taken to Crumlin Hospital with serious injuries.
Another person, an adult male, was taken to Tallaght Hospital for treatment for serious non-life-threatening injuries.
A garda spokesperson told Dublin Live: “Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a two-vehicle collision that occurred at Croftwood Crescent, Cherry Orchard, Dublin 10, at approximately 7:20 pm, on September 17, 2020.
“A girl was taken to Crumlin Hospital to receive treatment for serious injuries.
“A 19-year-old man was taken to Tallaght Hospital for treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. No further information is available at this time.”
Sinn Féin Dublin Councilor Daithí Doolan said: “I sincerely hope the injured make a full recovery. This quad bike / scrambler collision in Cherry Orchard left a young man and baby seriously injured.
“My thoughts are with the family at this difficult time. The community is in shock. Speaking to the residents tonight, I have no doubt that the Cherry Orchard community will join the family and give them the support they need to overcome. this”.
