LIMERICK’s team for Sunday’s Senior Munster Hurling Championship semifinal with Tipperary has been named.

There’s a change to the starting 15: Darragh O’Donovan replaces Paddy O’Loughlin at the rear wing.

While O’Donovan has played his pitch in midfield or forward midfield for Limerick, he played central defender with his Doon team this season.

Elsewhere, the team remains the same as in the 10-point win over Clare last Sunday.

There is also a change between the substitutes: David Dempsey returns from injury to replace Conor Boylan.

That leaves only bottom line duo Mike Casey and Richie English on the disabled list.

Limerick starts with 13 from the team that defeated Tipperary in the 2019 Munster SHC final: Nash and O’Donovan replace Mike Casey and Richie English.

Tipperary has named 11 from the team that started the Irish final last year: Alan Flynn, Sean O’Brien, Mark Kehoe and Jake Morris are the new faces, while John O’Dwyer, Dan McCormack, Michael Breen and Seamus Kennedy missing. outside.

Sunday’s replay of last year’s Munster SHC final kicks off at 4pm at Pairc Ui Chaoimh in Cork, live on RTE television.

Limerick beat Tipperary 2-14 to 0-18 in the first round of this year’s Allianz League in late January.

The counties have met 71 times in the championship – 69 in Munster, once in the Irish semi-final (2009) and once in the Irish qualifiers (2004) – Tipperary has 36 wins; Limerick 25 wins and 10 draws.

Munster’s rivals met twice in last year’s championship, each winning once: Limerick 2-26 Tipperary 2-14 in Munster final and Tipperary 1-22 Limerick 0-21 in Munster round robin SHC.

Sunday’s victory moves Limerick to the Munster SHC final on Sunday 15 November, while the loss sends John Kiely’s men to the All-Ireland SHC qualifiers on 7/8 or 14/15 November.
