An Irish schoolgirl died after suffering serious injuries when she fell from a height of five meters from a wall in Spain.

The 16-year-old suffered a fall from terror in Andalusia, on the outskirts of Granada, last month and suffered injuries to her face and head.

According to local reports, the city’s Public Safety councilor said the teenager was with friends near the famous Fuente del Avellano fountain when the fall occurred around 10:00 p.m. that night.

His friends alerted passersby who in turn called the emergency services that came to the scene.

Subsequently, the paramedics took her to the ICU of the Granada Neurotraumatology Hospital, where she remained in serious condition.

The teenager, who was a student at a secondary school in Dublin, reportedly passed away on Thursday.

The Irish Sun has contacted the Department of Foreign Affairs for comment, however they have yet to respond.

Local police have launched an investigation into the strange accident.

According to the Irish Independent, the Spanish newspaper Ideal reported that the young woman was in an exchange when she suffered the downfall of horror.

The incident occurred on the Avellano road as he was returning to the city one day when the area was just beginning to relax Covid-19 restrictions.

The new relaxed measures included an extension of the curfew until 11 p.m.

The night of the accident, a crowd of young people had gathered in the area to socialize that night as the schoolgirl was walking home with friends.
