Currently, some minor restrictions are in effect for Covid-19.
People can now travel up to 5 km from home to exercise. The previous limit was 2 km.
Medically vulnerable people who are locked up now can also leave home to exercise, provided they avoid contact with others.
This group includes people over the age of 70, transplant recipients, people on immunosuppression therapy or who have severe respiratory conditions.
Medically vulnerable people are still advised to stay home and just go out for “a little walk to exercise beyond their garden or patio.”
While outside, the advice is to strictly adhere to the two-meter physical distance measures, maintain a “do not touch” policy, and wash your hands when you return home.
Cocooners are also advised to avoid shops and should not attend gatherings of friends and families in private spaces, for example, family homes, weddings, and religious services.

Phase one of the roadmap to ease Covid-19 restrictions begins on May 18. The main changes of that phase include:
- Up to four people who do not live together can meet outdoors while staying at least two meters apart
- Child care workers can care for the children of essential health workers in the health worker’s home
- Stores that were previously open on Level 2 (for example: household goods, opticians, motors, bicycles and repairs, office supplies, electricity, computers, telephone sales and repairs) can open
- Open-air spaces and tourist sites will be opened (for example: parking lots, beaches, mountain walks) where social distance can be maintained.
- Public sports facilities (eg playing fields, tennis courts, golf courses) can be opened where social distance can be maintained.
- People can exercise, either alone or in a group of no more than four people, where social distance can be maintained and there is no contact with other people.
There will be no change in the number of people who can attend funerals. Ten mourners is still the maximum assistance allowed.
