Former Schalke player Hiannick Kamba has been found alive and four years are presumed dead.

The defender, who was once a teammate with German No. 1 Manuel Neuer, was reportedly pronounced dead in January 2016 after an apparent accident in his home country.

His club at the time, the eighth level VfB Huls, mourned his death, but has now been found alive in Gelsenkirchen.

Prosecutors launched an investigation against the player’s ex-wife who reportedly collected a six-figure life insurance payment.

Kamba’s ex-wife claims that she realized she was eligible for a life insurance payment and submitted documents to the insurance company to prove her death.
