A look back at the PDC Home Tour Night 18 story, which saw Stephen Bunting lead the pack ahead of Kim Huybrechts.
Stephen Bunting emerged victorious on Night 18 of the PDC Home Tour after leading a tight group ahead of Belgian Kim Huybrechts.
The Bullet became the last player in the tournament to win all three games in their group by leading Huybrechts, PDC newcomer Harald Leitinger and world number 96 Nathan Derry.
Bunting’s victory was confirmed in the final game of the night when he released all three legs he needed against Derry to beat Huybrechts. Meanwhile, it was an impressive performance for Austria-based Leitinger, who received praise from Bunting for earning his Tour card in January.

Bunting nullified a 4-2 deficit to beat World No. 134 Leitinger 5-4 in the first game of the night after having produced a magnificent set-up of 170 to leave himself the best to go 4-4. He followed that up with a graceful 13-dart throw to claim two points and take his average near 101.
World No. 36 Huybrechts contained a Derry fight to score the double two for a 5-2 victory after his opponent had broken into a 40 checkout that would have sent the game into an eighth leg.
Derry’s night ended almost immediately after suffering a 5-0 shutout against Leitinger, who started with three successive 18-dart legs to climb.

Rivals to the Premier League in 2015, Bunting and Huybrechts faced off in what was expected to be one of the group’s closest competitions. Instead, it was Bunting who was left without a 5-1 winner thanks to a decisive 11-dart to finish it after building a 4-0 lead early on. Although it was a simple consolation, in the end, Huybrecht’s only leg had originated in an impressive payment process.
Huybrechts then pressed Bunting to the top with a 5-1 win over Leitinger after producing a 102 average in the group, having closed the two points with a 14 darter.
Needing just three legs to secure the group, Bunting did exactly that against Derry on his way to a comfortable 5-1 victory.
Jamie Lewis, Luke Woodhouse, Geert Nentjes, Nick Kenny, Ryan Searle, Jelle Klaasen, Martijn Kleermaker, Alan Tabern, Carl Wilkinson and Jeff smith They are among the surprise names that have led the opening groups.
Meanwhile, Nathan Aspinall, Dave Chisnall, Jonny Clayton, Max Hopp, Chris Dobey and Darren Webster have reaffirmed their status from the highest levels of the standings.
