HEALTH Minister Simon Harris urged people to make the “next two weeks count” as Ireland remains in full closure until May 18.

He admitted that the restrictions were difficult for everyone, but said the government’s road map to reopen the country gives the public “a sense of hope.”

Today, 25 more people with Covid-19 have died in Ireland, bringing the death toll to 1,286.

343 new positive cases were also reported, bringing the total to 21,176 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.

Yesterday, Leo Varadkar revealed a roadmap to ease Covid-19 restrictions in Ireland.

Speaking outside of government buildings, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said that our society has been subjected to “the ultimate test.”

People who have been locked up will be allowed to go shopping from Tuesday and the 2 km limit will be extended to 5 km.
