Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds have named their son Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson, in honor of their grandparents and the doctors who recently treated the British Prime Minister.
Symonds (32) posted a photo of her cradling the newborn on Instagram on Saturday, saying that “she couldn’t be happier” and that her “heart is full.”
She praised the maternity team at University College Hospital in London, whom she said “took good care of us.”
The couple announced Wednesday that Mrs. Symonds had given birth to a baby that same day.
The birth came just weeks after Johnson was discharged from intensive care after contracting coronavirus.
Symonds wrote in her Instagram post: “We introduce Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson, born on 04.29.20 at 9 a.m.
“Wilfred after Boris’ grandfather, Lawrie after my grandfather, Nicholas after Dr. Nick Price and Dr. Nick Hart, the two doctors who saved Boris’s life last month.
“Thank you so much to the amazing NHS maternity team at UCLH who took such good care of us. Could not be happier. My heart is full. “
