Ally McCoist praised 29-year-old Leeds after Sheffield United win

Ally McCoist chose Leeds United’s Stuart Dallas to receive high praise after his performance at the weekend.

The Whites beat Sheffield United of Yorkshire 2-1 on Saturday in a Premier League match at Elland Road.

Ben Osborn’s goal at half-time initially disallowed Jack Harrison’s first goal. But Leeds regained the lead, as well as three points, when Phil Jagielka scored an unfortunate own goal for the visitors.

McCoist, who named Dallas his man of the game in the comments, felt he was the standout player on the court.

The versatile Northern Irishman joined as a central midfielder during the match for Marcelo Bielsa’s team, and was relentless with his energy.

“I think Dallas personified Leeds United today. He was good with the ball. Solid, reliable. I think his performance was outstanding, “McCoist told Amazon Prime Sport (5:10 pm, April 3).

Dallas may be kicking himself that he didn’t score after a couple of scoring chances against Sheffield United, but he pretty much did everything else during the game.

He has been excellent when asked to play winger for much of this season, and the way he can slip into most positions without a problem is remarkable.

It was one thing to do it in the Championship, but he is capable of doing the same on the Premier League stage.

Dallas remains one of the most underrated players in the top-flight division.
