The mandatory hotel quarantine in Ireland will go into effect this Friday, and the reservation portal will be available this morning.

The cost of an incoming passenger from one of the 33 designated states is € 1,875 for 12 nights.

The service provider, Tifco Hotel Group, will provide full board accommodation, along with transportation, safety, health and wellness services.

The first facility that will be available to greet arriving passengers is the Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport Hotel in Santry.

However, Tifco Hotel Group is committed to making available as many rooms as necessary.

The Health Department said that when it comes to transportation, the Defense Forces will oversee the process.

While Tifco Hotel Group will have a licensed security contractor at each facility, gardaí is said to be “available as an escalation point in response to such incidents.”

The quarantine rules will also apply to any passenger who arrives in the state without the required negative PCR test for Covid-19.

Yesterday, Taoiseach Micheál Martin said he believed the new rules would have a deterrent effect against travel to Ireland, adding that more countries could be added to the list.

Sinn Féin Health spokesman David Cullinane said that all passengers taking non-essential travel should face such a quarantine regime.
