Eleven people have been arrested in connection with breaches of Covid-19 regulations at a protest event in Dublin this afternoon.
At least 100 people took part in the protest, with some of those present carrying anti-vaccine signs.
Gardaí was aware of the event, which began at the Wellington Monument in Phoenix Park, in advance as it was organized on social media.
Around 3.30 p.m. M., The protesters moved from the park along the docks to the GPO on O’Connell Street while chanting anti-blockade slogans.
Gardaí has said that following “persistent and continuous” non-compliance with public health regulations, they intervened with a gradual response at Victoria Quay.
In addition to the 11 arrests in the event, Gardaí has said that a series of fines were also issued for people who violated the regulations.
The Garda Public Order Unit, the Peaceful Crowd Management Unit, the Garda Mounted Unit and the Garda Dog Unit participated in the follow-up to the protest.
Gardaí has said that they will carry out an investigation on the organizers of this event.
