Ten millimeters of rain overnight changed the gear at Cheltenham to mild, from good to mild in places, and we have identified four horses that could benefit from the change in conditions on the first day of the Cheltenham Festival.
1.20 Cheltenham
Appreciate It has never raced ashore faster than giving in, so easing conditions increases your chances at the Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle.
He’s three out of three over hurdles this season, with wins on terrain described from soft to strong.
In Racing Post Ratings, the best career win of the seven-year-old trained by Willie Mullins came on soft ground at Leopardstown in December.

A shift up to smooth will certainly suit the Milan native, with their four highest RPRs on record on this type of terrain.
The best of those efforts came at the Cheltenham Festival last season, when the Gigginstown-owned running back held up well to win the Kim Muir.

His form is on soft ground and reads 22112P so he certainly deserves a lot of respect in this competitive handicap.
3.05 Cheltenham
This dark horse Champion Hurdle trained by Willie Mullins has only raced on very soft or heavy terrain when he was trained in France, so slower terrain will be in his favor.

Before joining Mullins, he won two Grade 3 races and finished second in a Grade 1 at Auteuil in November in his last outing in France.
This challenge will be an entirely new test, but given its connections it would be hard to rule it out.
4.50 Cheltenham
Notorious mud lover Native River finished second in the National Hunt Chase in 2016, and with the same Brocade Racing silks, Remastered seems to go best for connections with ideal conditions for the David Pipe-trained rookie.

“title =” Remastered – You will enjoy the conditions at Cheltenham “class =” js-imageLoader “data-at-xn =” https://www.rp-assets.com/images/news/2021/02/20/88619 – medium.jpeg “data-br-n =” https://www.rp-assets.com/images/news/2021/02/20/88619-medium.jpeg “data-br-m =” https: / / www.rp-assets.com/images/news/2021/02/20/88619-large.jpeg “data-br-w =” https://www.rp-assets.com/images/news/2021/ 02 /20/88619-large.jpeg “data-br-xw =” https://www.rp-assets.com/images/news/2021/02/20/88619-large.jpeg “onclick =” return false ; “>
The eight-year-old comes here after the best run of his career in the Reynoldstown rookie chase, he raced on soft ground at Ascot, while his two previous best races came on the proving ground.
This career is usually a bit laborious, which seems ideal for Remastered, although it has a touch of class.
