The Dáil will debate legislation to establish mandatory quarantine of people entering the state from areas where there is known high transmission of Covid-19 or variants.

The opposition TDs are calling on the government to extend the planned new quarantine system to all arrivals in the state.

The Government’s plan to live with Covid-19 in the next period has been published.

He states that after schools, child care and more health services return next month, there is a possibility of greater openness of society and the economy in April if Covid-19 levels are falling.

The first reaction of the opposition parties is that it lacks enough concrete actions to guarantee the suppression of the virus next month.

There is also a push for mandatory quarantine for all who make it to the state.

However, the government insists that it will initially only be used for those who come here from 20 countries included in the list, along with those who do not have a negative Covid-19 test.

The opposition will begin to table amendments to change that position today.
