Fans of the popular RTÉ show have been particularly captivated by Paige, the 15-year-old daughter of OT leader Sharon.
Paige, along with the rest of Sharon’s family, has been hands-on in her approach to supporting mother Sharon, applying the same lifestyle changes and riding the same fitness challenges prescribed by the Operation Transformation panel.
On Wednesday night’s show, host Kathryn Thomas took the opportunity to praise Paige in particular, calling her “phenomenal” and “absolutely fabulous.”
Thomas said, “Seeing you take the initiative yourself and keep an eye on your mom, but then go out and take the initiative yourself and do it is great.”
Thomas reflected that she was overweight herself as a teenager and “hated exercise,” instead wanting to just hang out with friends.
Thomas said, “I was hanging out with my friends, hanging out in my room, but I had to come when I was ready to deal with it, accept it and want to change.”
Paige ‘nervous’ about the 5K race
In solidarity with Sharon, Paige has vowed to run three miles, though she admits she’s nervous at the prospect.
The Dublin teenager said: “I’m nervous too, but I know I’ll be fine and pass.
“I know we will all get through it together. As long as we do it together, I’ll be great. “
Paige also said she appreciated praise from an outside observer, arguing that all moms “have to” praise their children.
Paige noted, “When I was congratulated, it was really nice to hear from someone else.
“Because [when coming from Sharon] How can I know [if she means it] Or not? You have to say that. “
Sharon was quick to insist that there is no need to do so and that she congratulates her daughter “because it’s true.”
‘OT Breakout Star’
Now, viewers have taken to social media to express their admiration for young Paige, who has been dubbed an “inspiration” to teenagers across Ireland.
One user said: “Sharon’s little girl Paige is 10 times the leader of some of the royal leaders. In the 5k, ‘It will be difficult, but I know I’ll get over it.’ That’s a leader. “
Another added: “Sharon is doing great, I love the way the OT plan has involved her entire family. I especially love Paige, rising star of OT. “
A third said, “Paige is brilliant and inspiring for all teens.”
While a fourth, who joked that her own weight is “up and down like a new girlfriend’s nightgown,” said that in confinement, Sharon and Paige had begun to feel like comforting friends at a time in another way. isolated.
“I’m going to miss the #OperationTransformation leaders and Paige! With almost 12 months of confinement, without seeing family and friends, this inspiring group feels like best friends. “
Operation Transformation returns next Wednesday on RTÉ One at 9:35 pm.
