Co Mayo motorists are urged to drive carefully as snow remains in some places on many routes.
Yesterday, a swath of snow moved over the western side of the county, causing steep falls in Westport and roads around the city are said to be in dangerous condition.
The situation has improved a bit around Castlebar and Ballina, but you need to be careful on the secondary routes that were not rectified overnight.
The roads around Crossmolina are also problematic and drivers should also be careful in the south of the county, around Claremorris.
The N59 from Galway to Clifden is passable, but the Gardaí say the back roads are icy in many places.
In Co Galway, a slight rise in temperatures overnight has melted much of the snow that fell yesterday afternoon.
More than 1,300 homes are without power this morning in Mayo and Galway counties.
ESB Networks said teams are working to repair the faults and that most homes should have power restored by noon.
