A rowdy road user was approached by brave members of the public and arrested after threatening a Garda at a checkpoint.
Gardai in Clondalkin was conducting a routine check on Tower Road heading to Clondalkin Village this morning when a man in his 30s was arrested.
After an argument with the Gardai present, the driver got out of his car and threatened one of the officers.
However, brave members of the public stepped in and shot the man down before he could cause any harm.
Gardai told Dublin Live: “Gardaí in Clondalkin was conducting a Garda check this morning, Sunday 7th February 2021 at approximately 9:30 am at Tower Road, Clondalkin.
“A man (in his 30s) approached the checkpoint in his vehicle and after an argument with the Garda he got out of his vehicle and threatened the Garda.
“He was arrested at the scene with the assistance of members of the public and has been charged in connection with the incident.
“He must appear in Blanchardstown District Court tomorrow morning, Monday, February 8, 2021 at 10:30 am.”
