Met Eireann issued a severe and dangerous 84-hour warning as the country prepares for the return of the Beast from the East.

For three and a half days, Ireland will be affected by very cold temperatures during the day and “harsh and severe” winter weather at night.

Sunday morning through Wednesday afternoon will see “sleet showers or snow sometimes in eastern counties leading to dangerous road and trail conditions.”

The warning is in effect from 6 a.m. M. From Sunday until 6 p.m. M. From Wednesday, but the prospect of snow comes even next Thursday and Friday.

Temperatures will drop to -4 ° C at times with falling sleet and snow that will cover the country for up to 5 days.

Saturday will see scattered showers in the morning that will continue throughout the day.

Sunny episodes will develop with temperatures of 7 ° C falling to zero during the night with isolated rains and the formation of some frosts.

Sunday is when the white fun will begin, as daytime temperatures will hover around 2 ° C and the rains will turn winter later in the day.

There will be winter rains, mostly in the eastern counties, feeling very cold during days with low temperatures and wind chill followed by freezing, freezing nights.

Looking more at ‘The Beast’, the meteorological phenomenon that winter weather brings is a sudden stratospheric warming event that occurred in the Arctic recently.

And this is the same event that sparked ‘The Beast from the East’ in the country this time three years ago and which brought the heaviest snow to Ireland in three decades.
