An international dance is in full swing as Gardaí responds to a dance challenge set by their Swiss counterparts.
Gardaí across Ireland took to rooftops, beaches and swamps, and even involved some four-legged officers, to record a video of them participating in the ‘Jerusalem Challenge’, which was started in Switzerland by Zuger Polizei.
We have reached out to the Swiss police @fedpolCH #JerusalemaChallenge. Gardaí across Ireland answered the call to give a boost to the public we serve in these challenging times. #Stay together #homeStaySafe pic.twitter.com/sbLdkk54hB

After posting his video showing his best moves online, the Swiss Federal Police were quick to extend the challenge to our shores.
“We look forward to the performance of @gardainfo,” they posted on Twitter, while saying they doubted his steps could be surpassed “in terms of precision, discipline and perfectionism.”
The Gardaí did not shy away from the challenge, saying he hopes it can “give a boost to the public we serve in these difficult times.”
We look forward to the completion of the @gardainfo ! Although the 🇨🇭 product of the @ZugerPolice can hardly be beat in terms of #precision, #discipline a #perfectionism😉.

The Swiss police told RTÉ News that it is “a great honor for the Swiss police that the Irish police have accepted the challenge and released their brilliant video today.”
Which police force in the country will be involved next is the big question.
However, for now gardaí is encouraging you to go out and record your own videos “at home and in your bubbles” and post them using #GardaJerusalema.
